Aftercare

Welcome to the beginning of your new tattoo journey.

We're here to make sure that your experience doesn't just end with the art in our studio but continues through a healing process that's as comfortable and effective as possible. Remember, the beauty and longevity of your tattoo depend significantly on how well you follow through with aftercare.

Here's a comprehensive guide crafted to keep your new artwork looking its best:

Bandage Care

Please keep the bandage on for the recommended time frame following your session. To remove it, we suggest doing so in the shower using a mild, unscented soap to ease the process. If you find the bandage sticky, a little cooking oil (like vegetable, olive, or coconut) applied around the edges can help lift it. When removing it, keep your skin slightly pulled to minimize discomfort.

Washing Your Tattoo

Gently cleanse your tattoo in warm water using mild, unscented soap—avoid scrubbing. If advised by your artist, reapply recommended wraps or Saniderm for up to three days, ensuring your tattoo is clean and dry before each re-application. Wash your tattoo 1-3 times daily as needed or as directed by your artist.

Moisturizing

Wait until your tattoo stops is thoroughly dry (which could take 2 days or more after removing the initial or final bandage) before applying any lotion. A thin layer of an unscented, water-based lotion or healing ointment like Aquaphor is sufficient up to 2-3 times a day. Remember, less is more to avoid clogging pores or irritating your tattoo.

During Healing

It's normal for tattoos to peel, flake, scab slightly, and itch. Resist the urge to pick or scratch, as this can lead to infection, color loss, and prolonged healing. Tattoos in high-motion areas might need extra time to heal properly.

What to Avoid

Keep your fresh tattoo away from direct sunlight, bodies of water (like lakes, swimming pools, and bathtubs), and hot, humid environments such as saunas. Also, avoid contact with pet fur and ensure any clothing touching the tattoo is soft and clean.

Follow-Up and Touch-Ups

Our commitment to your satisfaction includes a free touch-up within [insert time frame] of your tattoo session, should you need it (exclusions apply). If your tattoo’s healing has been compromised due to not following the aftercare advice, additional charges may apply.

If you have any questions or concerns during your healing process, please reach out to us directly.

Your peace of mind is our priority, and we're dedicated to supporting you every step of the way.
